Land-use Classification Using Temporal Sar-images
نویسندگان
چکیده
14 ERS-1 SAR images were classified using three different classification algorithms. Median filtering and principal component analysis were used in speckle reduction and feature extraction. Feature selection was performed using branch-and-bound algorithm. The best classification accuracy (55-60%) was achieved when principal component images computed from median filtered SAR images were used. In this case five best principal components gave as good results as all 14 images.

A Matching Algorithm for Detecting Land Use Changes Using Case-Based Reasoning
The paper deals with change detection using time series SAR images. SAR provides a unique opportunity for detecting land-use changes within short intervals (e.g., monthly) in tropical and sub-tropical regions with cloud cover. Traditional change detection methods mainly rely on per-pixel spectral information but ignore per-object structural information. In this study, a new method is presented ...
متن کاملLand-use Classification Using Sar-images
This paper studies the applicability of ERS-1 and JERS SAR-images to land-use classification. Different factors affecting classification accuracy like environmental conditions of study area, speckle filtering, spatial averaging, texture measures and different ways to use temporal images are discussed. Classification experiment employing three principal component images computed from median filt...
متن کاملLand Cover Classification Using Combinations of L- and C-band Sar and Optical Satellite Images
Whereas C-band SAR data mainly provides information on the upper layer of land covers, properties of the lower surfaces can be captured using L-band SAR because of its higher capability of penetration. Moreover, optical imagery illuminates different characteristics of ground surfaces compared to radar images since they are obtained at different frequencies of the electro-magnetic spectrum. Henc...
متن کاملRevealing the impact of changing land use of the annual spatiotemporal boundary layer height (Kermanshah Case Study)
Introduction Atmospheric boundary layer (ABL), is the lowest part of the atmosphere. Its behavior is directly influenced by its contact with earth surface. On earth it usually responds to changes in surface radiative forcing in an hour or less. In this layer physical quantities such as flow velocity, temperature, moisture, etc., display rapid fluctuations (turbulence) and vertical mixing is st...
متن کاملComparing the Capability of Sentinel 2 and Landsat 8 Satellite Imagery in Land Use and Land Cover Mapping Using Pixel-based and Object-based Classification Methods
Introduction: Having accurate and up-to-date information on the status of land use and land cover change is a key point to protecting natural resources, sustainable agriculture management and urban development. Preparing the land cover and land use maps with traditional methods is usually time and cost consuming. Nowadays satellite imagery provides the possibility to prepare these maps in less ...
